The Society’s Aims
- To protect and enhance the character, charm and scale of Wendover
- To support the maintenance and improvement of features of all kinds that can contribute to a pleasant quality of life in Wendover
- To pursue these aims in co-operation with other local, national and statutory organisations
- The Society is a registered charity which does not engage in any party political or religious activities and is non profit making
The Society organises social and informative events, monitors planning applications and often consults members on relevant issues.
Membership Fee
The Wendover Society warmly welcomes new members.
If you are able to join online, pay by direct debit and have an email address, membership costs £15 per year and becomes due on 1 April annually. You can join by clicking on this link where you will also be able to sign up for your direct debit. If you are joining before 1st October, there is also a fee for the current year which we will request separately, otherwise this is waived until the next annual renewal becomes due. The fee covers all members of the household who are of voting age and wish to be members of the Society.
If you are not able to pay by Direct Debit, membership costs £20 per annum. In this case please contact us by email at thewendoversociety@outlook.com.
We ask all members and their nominees to provide us with an email address if they have one. Most of our communications can only be sent by email due to high cost of postage and also urgency in some cases. Your email address will never be used for any other purpose by the Society or be passed to anyone else.
Privacy Policy
We hold your name, address, contact and payment details to enable us to manange your membership and to communicate with you and to handle any queries which may arise.
We are committed to keeping your details safe and will always hold your details securely, not share your information with any third party and make sure that you are in control of your information. We only ever get in touch with you with your permission, by email if you have given us an email address, otherwise by post.
You can check what personal data is held by The Wendover Society for you and that it is up to date by contacting the membership secretary at any time. If you cease to be a member you can ask us to delete your information from our records immediately. Otherwise we will retain your data for up to three years in order to be able to respond to any queries.
